My guess is you take into account your self an open minded person. You’re principally proper. I say principally as a result of we’re all biased. Each of us has filters by means of which we see the world.
We’re rather a lot just like the folks of Oz – as in The Wizard of Oz. In the unique story, written by Frank Baum, the Emerald City is claimed to be made from inexperienced glass, emeralds, and different jewels. And but, when Dorothy and her companions enter the town, the Wizard expects them to put on green-tinted spectacles. The Wizard says the glasses will shield them towards the “brightness and glory” of the town. In fact, the inexperienced glasses skew their perspective, making all the pieces seem greener than it truly is.
A skewed perspective can be why the Scarecrow thought he wanted a mind; the Tin Woodman, a coronary heart; and the Cowardly Lion, braveness. For good or for unhealthy, every of us sees what we wish to see, not essentially what truly is.
Skewed views are why we’ve bother resolving all the pieces from enterprise disputes to marriage issues and parenting conflicts. What’s true turn out to be skewed as a result of our green-colored spectacles blind us to some angle of actuality.
