Living as Salt and Light in Today’s Culture

At some level in our lives all of us ask these massive questions.

“Why am I here?”

“Where am I going?”

“Does God exist?”

“What’s the meaning of life?”

We’re exploring these questions and others on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Living As Salt and Light in Today’s Culture” with our good good friend and former colleague, Dr. Del Tackett.

Dr. Tackett is a speaker, writer, professor, and founding father of Soli Deo Gloria Ministries. He previously served as a VP for Focus on the Familyand was president of our Focus on the Family Institute.

You could also be conscious that he created and hosted The Truth Project, a complete worldview video sequence and small-group examine that was produced by Focus on the Family. Since then, he’s continued producing many different worldview video initiatives, impacting greater than 15 million individuals.

He’s becoming a member of us on our program to share about his newest sequence, known as The Engagement Project, a 10-part video curriculum set in a classroom that challenges us to suppose extra deeply concerning the methods in which we steward our lives, our religion, and work with God to perform His will.

Most Christian thinkers determine 4 key eras or “epics” in phrases of human historical past:

  1. Creation.
  2. Fall of Man
  3. Redemption by Christ
  4. Final Restoration with the return of Christ.

Dr. Tackett proposes a 5th epic to categorize the present time interval in which we fashionable Christians reside: engagement. This time interval (totally explored in The Engagement Project) is outlined by three questions:

  1. Why did Jesus go away? Wouldn’t our lives be higher/simpler if Jesus nonetheless bodily lived amongst us? Dr. Tackett explains why, by the facility of the Holy Spirit, the Church’s impression might be exponentially better than what Jesus did in his time on earth.
  2. Why does God ship us? Why does an all-knowing and omnipotent God need to work by finite creatures like us to perform His will?
  3. What is God’s endgame? The starting days of creation echo with God’s command to “be fruitful and multiply.” God outfitted crops, animals, and individuals to be artistic brokers in this world.
