This morning on LinkedIn I noticed a post by Gary Stager (embedded under) during which he linked to a collection of Logo resources that he’s compiled on The Daily Papert.
Reading Gary’s publish and looking out by way of the assets jogged my memory of two issues. First, as I wrote in response to Gary, once I was in elementary faculty I had an incredible trainer who launched us to Logo. 34 years later I nonetheless have fond recollections of these days that he stayed after faculty in order that my buddy and I might tinker all we wished (or till I needed to go dwelling to start my paper route). The image on the high of this publish is the Google Street View picture of the skin of the elementary faculty classroom during which I first used Logo.
The different factor that Gary’s publish jogged my memory of is the disheartening feeling I get once I point out Logo immediately to individuals who have job titles like “tech coach” and so they don’t know what I’m speaking about. Worse nonetheless is once they have these titles and inform me that they do not do any type of programming in any respect.
If you do not know what Logo is, head to Gary’s listing of assets to start studying about it. If you do know what Logo is, check out Gary’s listing of assets and see if there’s something new to you or if there’s something that reminded of by studying by way of the listing. On that word, I’m going to thumb by way of a number of the notes I took once I learn Mindstorms for the primary time.
