The Doodle for Google artwork contest is again for the 13th yr in a row! This yr’s theme is “I am strong because…”

Just like all earlier editions of the competition, Doodle for Google 2021 asks Ok-12 college students to create authentic art work that addresses this yr’s theme. Students then have their art work submitted on their behalf by their dad and mom or lecturers. The contest awards the winner a $30,000 faculty scholarship and a $50,000 know-how grant to the winner’s college. The deadline for entry is February 26, 2021.

A small change from earlier years is that this yr’s Doodle for Google contest features a required “artist’s statement” about their work.

Teachers who’re serious about having college students create art work for this contest as a part of a classroom exercise ought to head to the Educators’ Resources page on the contest website. On that web page you may discover an educators’ information (PDF) that features lesson plans for incorporating the competition into your classroom.
